Anatoli Nikitavich Turkin was born in Astrakhan in 1938. He graduated from the Krasnodar Art School in 1965. He became a member of the Artists' Union of Russia in 1974. He has been an active participant in regional, zonal, republican and All-Union art exhibitions. He became the Kustodiev regional prize laureate in 2000.
