Gennadi Grigorevich Grishchenko was born on April 28, 1940. He studied at the Krasnodar Art Pedagogical College. His studies were interrupted when he served with the Soviet Army in Germany from 1960 to 1963. Upon his return he studied at the Art Industrial Institute in Kharkov, Ukraine in the industrial art department from 1963 to 1968. Following his graduation he worked as a designer in different plants from 1969 to 1974. He participated in Republic and Zone exhibitions in St. Petersburg, Moscow, Rostov, and Orel. He is a member of the Artists’ Union of Russia. In 1997 he received an award for a series of engravings devoted to the 300th anniversary of Russian shipbuilding. He has lived and worked in the Voronezh area since 1974. He has created 200 drawings and 60 engravings. Since 1995 he has been teaching at the Voronezh Art School for children and adults.
