Petr Kuzmich Bondarenko was born in 1915 in Chernyanka, Kursk province. He studied at the Leningrad Institute of Communal Construction Engineers from 1935 to 1939, and later at the Leningrad Art College. He began exhibiting his works in 1950. Also a monumentalist, he lives and works in Voroshilovgrad/Lugansk, Ukraine.
